Gymnastics

All gymnastics classes follow the XCEL and USAG curriculum.

Little Gymnasts: This class is designed for young gymnasts to be introduced to concepts involving beam, vault, bars, and floor exercise. All of the skills learned in this class will be built upon in future classes to obtain beginner gymnastics skills. This class is good for students who want to try gymnastics but have zero experience. This is a fun and exciting way to introduce gymnastics to brand new gymnasts. This class will be able to participate in a “Showcase” at the end of the season.

Beginning Gymnastics: This class is geared toward students who would like to be on a gymnastics team or gymnastics recreational. They will learn beginning concepts for all events: vault, bars, beam, and floor exercise. This class will also have a large focus on building the strength needed for achieving skills on bars and vaults specifically. This class will be able to participate in a “Showcase” at the end of the season. Students must be able to do a forward roll and bridge before entering into this class.

Intermediate Gymnastics: This class is geared toward gymnasts that would like to be on a gymnastics team or gymnastics recreational. The gymnasts will be learning the proper technique for vault, bars, beam, and other gymnastic apparatuses. They will also focus on building strength and achieving personal goals that set through this class. Gymnasts should have a strong bridge and a cartwheel prior to the class.

Team Level 1: This class will be for gymnasts who want to make a team or who already are on a team. They will take the skills they’ve learned in the prior classes to turn them into skills listed in the curriculum for XCEL Bronze level. We will also be focusing on skills needed to obtain a level 1 and 2 per USAG standards. This class will be able to participate in a “Showcase” at the end of the season.

Team Level 2: This class will be for gymnasts who want to make team or who already are on team. They will take the skills they’ve learned in the prior classes to turn them into skills listed in the curriculum for XCEL Silver level. We will also be focusing on skills needed to obtain a level 2 and 3 per USAG standards. This class will be able to participate in a “Showcase” at the end of the season.
